best chocolate macaron in Paris

Celebrating the Fête du Macaron with a Giveaway.

Stopping for a macaron in Paris…

Happy Fête du Macaron to you all!

How could we let Macaron Day in Paris go by without doing something special?  Well, my friends, Waverley Books are offering a copy of “Mad About Macarons!” to FIVE lucky winners!

Before I mention how to enter, just a wee word.  My passion is macarons and it can be frustrating to hear people say, “Oh no.  Macarons look too difficult: I could never even attempt to make them…“.  But making macarons is not difficult AND it’s fun.  They can even be addictive to make.  We want to pass on this message to as many people who WANT to make macarons but are afraid to do so.  So, if you can find the best way to spread the word about the book amongst your friends or macaronivore friends, then that’s great.  I’ll leave YOU to be creative.

Here’s how to enter:

Sorry, this Giveaway is now closed.

The giveaway will run from Sunday 20th to Sunday 27th March 2011.

I will announce the FIVE winners on my weekly Thursday post on 31st March 2011.

To enter, I’m not saying, “Buy the Book Now!” (after all, you’re entering to get one :-))
Either “Like” Mad About Macarons on Facebook and if you’re already following, suggest the page to friends who you think would be interested.

If you’re not on Facebook I’m going to leave the creativity up to YOU.  Here’s an example: if you have the book (and are happy with it! ;-)), then you could tell your bookshop that you’re happy with it, or post a short review…

Don’t forget to leave me a comment letting me know what you did.  That way I can contact you by email if you are one of the winners.

Bonne chance et Bonne Fête!

My first batch of macarons were a success! I was so impressed with myself. I had never tasted them before but friends who had said they were superb. Last week for my birthday I went to Laduree and purchased a box of 8, so lovely, and was determined to try them again this weekend. I tried a different recipe and they were an epic fail! So I have been looking online and just came across your book. I have liked your facebook page and I hope I win. x

If I win i’ll also be reviewing the book and my efforts at making macaroons – which I’m hoping won’t be as tragic as my attempts at making decorative cupcakes – which could have been used as bouncy balls!

I’ve been obsessed with macarons for some time now! Delicious and cute and oh so exciting when you get that first perfect batch from the oven. I don’t have your book, but I did ask for it for my birthday! It’s on the 29th, so this give-away couldn’t have come at a better time!

I would love to win a copy of “Mad About Macarons” because I TRULY am Mad for them! I had my first macaron while studying in Paris during college (after Thanksgiving dinner, in fact!) and I fell in love! Since then my love for them has grown into appreciation for those who make them and a drive for perfecting them in my own kitchen.

I would make the macarons in “Mad About Macarons” frequently until perfection!

I have shared your Facebook page and the blog from Paris Breakfasts you were featured in on the Facebook page for my blog, The Culinary Librarian! My readers are becoming mad about macarons themselves!

I “liked” you on FB (and accidentally got my husband to “like” you too because we share the computer and didn’t know he was logged into FB 🙂 ). LOVE macarons, Paris, baking, cookbooks and all things French. Have the “I heart Macarons” book and have made many batches (mostly sucessful). Saw the post on Paris Breakfast with the shopping spree at Mora (LOVE it) and saw in the basket some flavors. Super interested because on last trip to Paris I bought some Arome Concentre framboise but didn’t know if it was the right stuff for macarons and just haven’t had the time to make any yet. Hope the book talks about using them.
